Purpose
In collaboration with the Executive Director, provide leadership and management of the Financial Accounting and Reporting team and the Federal Costing/Service Center team within Accounting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and review required reports. This includes but is not limited to the Monthly Financial Report, Year End Projections, Web Expenditures, Transfers and Due to Due Forms, Sources and Uses, LAR.
- Perform an integral role during fiscal year-end processes, including posting journal entries, reconciling schedules, performing analytical reviews, and responding to audit requests. Liaison with internal and external constituents and auditors.
- Provide accounting support for customers, including campus departments, oversight agencies, UT management, and section managers within Accounting and Financial Management.
- Supervise the FAR team: Ensure that all work for the team is completed in a timely and accurate manner. This includes, but is not limited to, daily transactions, account set up, monthly reconciliation reports, and data integrity.
- Supervise the Federal Costing/Service Center team: Ensure that all work for the section is completed in a timely and accurate manner. This includes, but is not limited to, Service Center periodic reviews and F&A and Indirect Cost proposal support.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of five years of experience in reporting and auditing in a higher education environment.
- Ability to optimize staff performance and lead business process improvements.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to work collaboratively or independently and function effectively with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
- Ten or more years of experience in reporting and auditing.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, make independent decisions, and manage and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with information technology systems including Cognos, PowerBI, *DEFINE, Workday, and spreadsheets.
Salary Range
$125,000
Working Conditions
- May work around standard office conditions
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a work station
- CFO Suite/Hybrid: Currently remote, may be asked to come onsite occasionally for high priority projects and/or meetings. Will be notified when office space has been identified and return to office is required for position.
