Purpose
Engage partners on- and off- campus in experiential learning with students as part of the Office of Experiential Learning in the College of Natural Sciences. Recruit companies or other external entities to participate in authentic engagement with students in their discipline in existing programs and departmental efforts, as well as creating new opportunities. Support experiential learning events and operations through coordinating event components with external partner involvement, managing budgets, communications, and administrative support as needed. To advance our core mission of fostering wellness, belonging, and success for all students.
Responsibilities
Relationship management: Serve as the primary liaison between Office of Experiential Learning and external partners, community leaders, and donors. Recruit and maintain relationships with external entities for authentic engagement with existing Experiential Learning programs and new program development. Coordinate stewardship and donor relations activities for gifts and sponsorships.
Leadership: Form key partnerships with the CNS Career Services Office, CNS Development Office, the Health Professions Office, and Office of Strategic Research Initiatives to identify external program partners and coordinate interactions to enhance student experiential learning opportunities.
Events: Plan and execute small and large-scale experiential events on campus with external partner components, including project planning, budget preparation, event logistics and ordering, and assessing outcomes. Serve as the point person for all Experiential Learning visits, tours, demo requests, and outreach events.
Communications: Develop and maintain a portfolio of marketing materials for each identified program or effort that details engagement opportunities for external partners. Create annual impact reports to share with both internal and external parties. Develop proposals for external partners, foundations, or donors for engagement.
Experiential Learning Team Engagement: Engage deeply as a staff member of the innovative CNS Office of Experiential Learning (ExL) team, participating in team meetings, events, special projects, communications, and day-to-day operations of the ExL office. Contribute thoughtfully to ExL team projects, proposals, and vision.
Other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 3 years of industry experience, marketing/communications, and/or experience representing educational programs in higher education to external audiences. Highly effective communication skills. Demonstrated ability to present information in a variety of media to broad audiences. Capable of working independently, while also collaborating with teams across the UT campus. Ability to serve as a college liaison to ensure successful collaboration with internal and external partners.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in marketing/communications/business. Degree or minor in life or natural sciences or engineering. Prior work experience in event planning and coordination. Experience developing marketing or promotional materials including presentations, video and web content. Advanced level of knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, and/or other design software for creation of professional digital and print marketing materials.
Salary Range
$60,000-$63,000
