Responsibilities
The Space Management Team, known as Shelf Edge at H-E-B, coordinates with Forecasting and Replenishment, Suppliers, Brokers, and Store Operations, and collaborates with Procurement, Merchants, and regional leadership.As a Space Planning/Merchandising Analyst II, you'll translate Business Development Manager (BDM) / Buyer strategy into clustered or Store-specific plan-o-grams that meet sales, margin, operations, and productivity goals. 'Partner-owned' means our most important resources--People--drive the innovation, growth, and success that make H-E-B The Greatest Omnichannel Retailing Company.Do you have a:HEART FOR PEOPLE... willingness to train others?HEAD FOR BUSINESS... skills to apply analytics and project management to meet objectives?PASSION FOR RESULTS... drive to support timely projects through completion?We are looking for:- experience in retail, merchandising, consumer packaged goods, or plan-o-grams / space planning systemsWhat is the work?Analytics:- Analyzes / evaluates / implements category management processes and activities- Applies proficient knowledge of space planning plan-o-gram (POG) software systems- Operates / analyzes clustering tool data results and output- Creates category knowledge Base (CKB) reports- Applies comprehension of AutoCAD, Revit, and floor planning documentation- Applies advanced understanding of H-E-B assortment tools; uses data to create POGs- Interprets / applies category financial analysis to create / capture plan-o-grams for store operation execution based on BDM strategy- Imports / exports space planning POG and financial metrics to help analyze business decisions- Builds / validates all fixtures in POGs- Accurately captures product attributes (e.g., product dimensions, description, size, unit of measure, presentation, capacity, item status)- Creates POGs based on BDM's 5-year plan and merchandising guidelines for all Shelf Edge activities- Manages primary section assignments by store, for assigned categories- Monitors / corrects daily POG exception report; collaborates with peers on outstanding issues- Creates communication document for Store merchandising execution; resolves POG issues- Serves as subject matter expert on merchandising and assortment to BDMs / Buyers in assigned area of responsibility- Adheres to Shelf Edge activity timelines for assigned categories, including task prioritization- Participates in special projects from end-to-end, based on assigned category- Leads physical resets; documents and recaps results / findings- Participates in new Store POG support projects- Participates in process improvement initiativesTraining:- Develops / administers training materials for new processes and technology- Coordinates training events for department, Stores, and client groups- Serves as advisor to Space Planning regarding policies, processes, procedures, and applicationsWhat is your background?- A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience- 2+ years of experience in retail space planning / execution (e.g., store operations, merchandising, space management, pricing, procurement, or software applications)- 2+ years of experience in consumer-packaged goods sales- Experience mentoring / training peers and subordinates- Experience analyzing sales and profitability at a macro or micro level- Experience creating Category Knowledge Base (CKB) reports- Experience in inventory management systems- Experience working in space planning software, or comparable plan-o-gram software and Business Intelligence (BI) systems (preferred)Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Space Planning/Merchandising Analyst II?- Comprehensive working knowledge of space planning software, plan-o-grams, inventory management systems, Business Intelligence (BI), syndicated data sources (IRI, ACNielsen), and creation / use of Category Knowledge Base (CKB) reports- Strong written / verbal communication and presentation skills- Strong PC skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote), Zoom, and software programs / applications required by the job- Strong analytical and project management skills- Strong organization and time-management skills- Negotiation and influencing skills- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects / tasks; attention to detail- Ability to meet pre- and post-implementation timelines- Ability to manage moderate-scale projects from conception to implementation- Ability to work with minimal supervision- Ability to work in a virtual / remote location- Ability to stay highly resilient- Ability to train and mentor othersCan you...- Function in a fast-paced, retail, office, and remote environment- Travel by car or plane with overnight stays- Work extended hours; sit / stand for extended periods- Occasionally lift 20 lbs or more11-2021
