Responsibilities
A leader in the retail food industry, H E B's 19 warehouses with over 4.5 million square feet support our retail division by distributing thousands of items (over 7.1 million cases per week) to our Stores in Texas and Mexico.
Exempt Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary
- Creates processes and procedures for departmental and/or strategic initiatives
- Supports positive partner relations environment by assisting partners resolve concerns and giving timely consistent feedback
- Participates in special projects as assigned and offers support to peers as needed
- Develops strategic and tactical plans for inbound logistics as well as supporting HEB delivery operations and Parkway Transport to ensure business objectives are being met
- Creates a positive partner relations environment by providing expectations and responsibilities to Team Leaders/supervisors. Provides timely and consistent feedback
Order Management
- Coordinates with distribution centers to maintain inventory levels through diverting product and managing POs due dates.
- Responsible for all capacity planning across the network – including warehouse(s) and transportation capacities. Based upon store service requirements, prioritizes Purchase orders that are needed and assigns appropriate due date.
- Monitors distribution centers’ schedule fluctuations. Coordinates with procurement teams and distribution centers to manage through changes in volume.
- Reports service level weekly. This includes all transportation business units, (HEB and external) Warehouse to store service, and supplier to warehouse.
- Supervises the tracking/monitoring of all inbound activity to distribution centers to include all ocean freight, rail cars and truck movements.
- Leads the group of Partners who are responsible for changing all relevant Purchase Order information to include due date changes, quantity changes and communicating to appropriate HEB and Non HEB partners.
- Responsible for allocating product based upon product availability and store needs to ensure maximum sales/profits are achieved.
- Develops and maintains process flow documents and work instructions
Education and Experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of related experience
- Minimum 3+ years supply chain experience and/or 3+ years of transportation management
