What You'll Do
- Lead and manage a Data Engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with accounting and business team leaders to align technical strategies with business goals, providing support and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
- Drive the implementation and optimization of financial and accounting data pipelines to ensure seamless integration with accurate and timely data into production environments for reporting and analysis.
- Utilize your expertise in data engineering to build a strong team that focuses on overall system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, and performance of applications.
- Ensure the team's cloud expertise by leveraging 3-5 years of experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Manage direct reports within the team, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional digital teams to establish best practices, standards, and continuous improvement of processes.
Who You Are
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with attention to details
- Strong working knowledge of Data Engineering and associated tools and technologies like Apache, Spark, Databricks, Python, SQL, and data lake concepts.
- 5-7+ years of experience with ETL, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, and working with large-scale datasets (enterprise experience is a plus!).
- 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in multiple modern programming languages such as Python or Java
- 2+ years of experience leveraging DevOps principals such as CI/CD and using tools like Git, Jenkins, etc.
- 5-7+ years of API development (specifically Rest API) and test-driven development
- 3-5+ years of experience with Kafka and/or building real-time streaming data pipelines and applications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or related discipline, master’s degree preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
It’s a Plus if you have:
- Experience working with public cloud technologies AWS and GCP
- Experience collaborating with accounting personnel on reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of timely financial data.
- Understanding of accounting concepts such as: Retail Sales, Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL) management, Budgeting and forecasting, Cost accounting, Variance analysis, Revenue recognition, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Internal controls and compliance
