As a Senior Systems Developer, you’ll coach/mentor junior Developers in techniques, processes, and new technologies, facilitate technical communications with vendors and Operations teams. You will stay ahead of new technologies; assist with plans to keep tech sustainment items current and supported; recommend changes to processes and tools based on industry standards, patterns, and practices.
What you'll do
- Estimates; ensure technical teams stay on track, on schedule, and on budget
- Support test planning / test case development; identify required technical tasks to support testing; prepare environments to support SIT / UAT execution and training
- Create technical documentation / training for system enhancements and test scenarios
- Support efforts in system development and maintenance, ensuring optimal use of resources.
- Design / implement proactive automated system monitoring and alerting solutions; identify engineering tools that facilitate systems management
- Assist with evaluation and recommendation of COTS / SaaS systems, integration, and testing tools
- Stay available to provide support during escalation of incidents
- Assist with / support documentation, prioritization, and closure of follow-up action items from significant incidents and recurring incidents
- Awareness of COTS/SaaS vendor functional and technical roadmaps
- Software Development and Management of Security Based systems such as cameras, camera vision, camera vision AI, access control, access control automation, 3rd party solution integrations
- Familiarity with Risk / Insurance / RMIS / Safety based software systems such as Origami
- Deep level understanding of security based eco systems, and security automation
Who You Are
- You have a related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
- You have 5+ years of experience configuring, enhancing, and maintaining COTS / SaaS products
- You have domain experience at the ERP and enterprise system level
- You may have knowledge of a given system’s tech sustainment factors, including best practices, maintenance and support plan for them
- You understand development methodologies / processes
- You have a strong knowledge of multiple languages, technologies, frameworks and general software development concepts/trends/best practices and can quickly on-board to projects in minimal time
- You understand architecture, design, and integration landscape of multiple H-E-B systems
- You have an awareness of how systems integrate beyond your scope of responsibility
- You have strong communication skills, effectively discussing technical issues and solutions with various stakeholders
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- You are self-driven, independently acquire new, applicable knowledge (proactive personal/professional development)
- You will apply knowledge of domain-specific industry best practices and standards with little to no guidance (example: Warehouse Operations and WMS, Operational Technology); and ability to apply that knowledge to process and technology improvements at H-E-B.
- You have a strong knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, database operations/efficiency/tuning and SQL as it relates to systems development
- You have an ownership mentality, and a consistent track record of successful, high-quality results
- You can ake instructions well and you can operate independently
