Job Summary:
The Millwork Inventory Supervisor maintains records concerning receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, products, supplies, and equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day workflow of team members within the department.
- Assists management with addressing employee concerns and conflicts. Escalates unresolved concerns to management.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conducts audits in order to maintain inventory data integrity.
- Analyzes millwork product statistics to assist in achieving facility inventory and financial goals.
- Compiles and reviews data from all sources such as purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, and accounting reports to determine compliance with control and audit systems.
- Enters and tracks all product information into a computer to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping, and all other records to ensure accuracy.
- Consults with vendors regarding backorders on purchase orders to determine the ETA of such purchase orders
- Compares purchase orders against received orders to check for; part numbers and/or size specifications, cost, and shipping cost.
- Schedules and oversees regular cycle and security counts and compares results to system data.
- Adjusts inventory based on established company policies and management approval.
- Oversees preparation for scheduled physical inventories
- Analyzes and makes recommendations to management and millwork buyers regarding stock levels, item status, and product disposition.
- Oversees product tagging, signage, and distribution for accuracy and completeness and initiates corrective action to remedy any potential problem with such products.
- Receives notification of any inventory irregularities and/or changes that will directly or indirectly affect the rate of production of the facility and makes recommendations to management for resolutions.
- Works with and through corporate, store, and millwork employees to maintain accuracy and compliance with control and audit systems.
- Maintains and stocks incoming inventory in the warehouse.
- Operates a forklift.
- Attends team meetings and company training sessions as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
- The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
- Ability to utilize IBM Content Manager, MAC21, and other 3rd party software applications.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must be available and willing to work such overtime per day or week as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
Education/Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Forklift operator certification.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and moving around the facility.
- Must be able to use the three-point hold when getting into trucks and/or forklifts.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at times, occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds, and push and/or pull 50 pound loads at a time.
- The ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.
