Our Design team is dedicated to designing and delivering integrated, highly creative, and innovative retail environments crafted to maximize H-E-B's brand commitment.As a Senior Store Planner, your work will help define physical, digital, and human elements in our Stores and non-retail facilities. You'll help build H-E-B's design vision, with limited direction. You'll interpret program and scope details, integrating them with interior / exterior site design and aesthetic for new Stores, remodels, innovation projects, and office spaces.Once you're eligible, you'll become an Owner in the company, so we're looking for commitment, hard work, and focus on quality and Customer service. 'Partner-owned' means our most important resources--People--drive the innovation, growth, and success that makes H-E-B The Greatest Retailing Company.Do you have a:HEART FOR PEOPLE... willingness to coach and mentor?HEAD FOR BUSINESS... combination of inspiration and trend information expertise to extend H-E-B's brand strategy?PASSION FOR RESULTS... ability to make great design decisions quickly?We are looking for:- a bachelor's degree in architecture or interior design- 6+ years of retail design experienceWhat is the work?Design / Project Management:- Produces unique and complex interior design ideas, concepts, and solutions- Reviews store plans with internal teams for scope alignment- Manages a defined information program to create design solutions; develops / maintains design guideline documents- Calculates / prepares square footage calculations and analysis of Store plans- Serves as a subject matter expert for codes and regulations (e.g., ADA, sanitation and building, environmental, etc.)- Makes project site visits; recognizes / documents / resolves design issues for compliance with design intent and construction documents- Researches / provides solid assessment of building materials, textiles, lighting, and appropriate applications- Manages projects / communicates with consultants through construction document phase (including all processing change requests)- Defines unique branded concepts to be used in design environments; applies proper use of graphics, color, form, scale, lighting, and texture, taking schedules and deadlines into consideration- Practices cost conciseness and proactive pursuit of cost savings- Creates highly detailed, complete, accurate, and fully-coordinated construction documents- Facilitates development of project scope, schedule, and budget estimates- Produces manual and electronic presentation drawings- Manages / prepares documentation for hand-off to consultants, including, but not limited to, floor plans, interior sign plans, building and finish details, and finish specifications and schedules- Supports rapid iteration of new design concepts by leading project-level, cross-functional teams with limited definition and direction- Creates / maintains accurate numerical data on all projects; applies a general understanding of financial impacts of the business- May coach / mentor less-experienced Store PlannersWhat is your background?- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in architecture or interior design- 6+ years of retail design experienceDo you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Senior Store Planner?- Advanced knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and related construction ordinances / regulations- Strong understanding of how to advocate for the H-E-B Brand and design aesthetic- Strong understanding of contracts and working with consultants- Understanding of building systems and their coordination / integration in H-E-B facilities, and scheduling, work processes, and protocol- Proficiency in software used to create H-E-B designs (AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, Photoshop, Sketch Up)- Advanced time-management skills- Strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills- Strategic / conceptual thinking skills- Project management skills- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in selection / use of finishes (color, form, scale, texture) that will be aesthetically pleasing and cost effective- Ability to demonstrate skills related to programming, space allocation, planning- Ability to work and create with little supervision (alone or in team / group settings); self-directed- Ability to manage a schedule, deadlines, and multiple priorities and shift focus between projectsCan you...- Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment- Travel with overnight stays- Work extended hours11-2018
