Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is currently recruiting for full-time Registered Nurse Clinical Supervisor, Fulltime, nights, 7p-7:30a
The RN Clinical Supervisor Contributes to Houston Behavioral Health Hospital’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Responsibilities:
- Make sure staff are aware that call ins must be done 4 hours before start of shift.
- Completes other duties as assigned
- Adheres to all current federal & state laws, as well as hospital Policies and Procedures, including the safeguarding of confidential protected health information and compliance with the Health Insurance
- Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Completes both RN floor orientation as well as Clinical Supervisor. Completes annual nursing competencies for RN and Clinical Supervisor.
- Demonstrates an awareness, appreciation and respect for diverse cultures and individual differences of clients and fellow employees; identifies culturally relevant issues and implements communications in a manner appropriate to them. Assures that staff follow the language policy when on the units.
- Reports immediately any suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect to his/her immediate supervisor and the Child Abuse Hotline and document the incident before the end of the shift. Notifies the ACNO/CNO or CEO of any staff assault to patients or other staff.
- Participates actively in hospital quality assurance activities by completing assigned audits. Participates in leading clinical team meetings to ensure clinical service goals are met and program and organizational developments are communicated, understood and implemented.
- Attends nurse and supervisor staff meetings to ensure clinical service goals are met and program and organizational developments are communicated, understood and implemented.
- Attends trainings related to the responsibilities of the position.
- Assures that staffing for the next shift is completed.
- Assure that the code teams are assigned.
- Ensures that huddle is held every day at exactly 7:00.
When completing rounds the following areas must be reviewed:
- Rounds are being completed by both the RN and MHT. Documentation is reviewed.
- Breaks are being taken and are assigned on the staffing sheet for each unit.
- Assures that all high-risk patients (SI and SAO) patients are located at the front of the unit, near the nursing station and that the rounding sheets have reflecting red and/or purple dots.
- Round in the med room to assess the cleanliness of the room. Notify the CN to correct if not up to expectation. This includes the glucometer and required documentation.
- Holds staff accountable. There should be no phones being used, sleeping occurring or staff leaving the units without permission.
- Completes face-to-face for emergency restraints and seclusion. Assures that staff completed all required documentation.
- Review your emails and respond on your shift before you leave each day.
- Present any disciplinary or training information to staff as directed.
- Complete 90-day evaluation on all your staff. Provide input for annual staff evaluations.
- Complete daily Clinical Supervisor shift report accurately.
- Other duties upon request.
Licensure: Current RN license to practice in the State of TX required, BSN preferred.
Education: Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program
Experience: Two years of management experience preferred in an Inpatient Mental Health setting.
Certifications: Current CPR or obtain in orientation and Hospital de-escalation program must be attained upon orientation.

Provide excellent customer service.
This is a fast-paced role that requires stress and crisis management skills, analysis and evaluation of situations and patient care, and basic skills in personnel management concepts and methods.
Must have basic teaching or training skills preferred; Must be able to understand apply applicable standards and regulations (e.g. TJC, HCFA,Title 22).
