**The position will cover either the San Antonio or Austin area. **
SUMMARY
Sells building materials and/or maintenance supplies to builders, businesses, and industrial establishments by performing the following duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Travels throughout the assigned area to call on regular and prospective customers at job sites, sales offices, or other locations to solicit orders for existing accounts and/or generate new accounts for assigned McCoy store location(s)
- Maintain a quarterly schedule to meet with the builders of each account to continue developing relationships and address concerns and issues
- Makes sales calls as needed to maintain and build business levels and relationships
- Works with and through store managers and other management team members to assure the achievement of sales and profit goals
- Provides information to customers, retail employees, and co-workers about product usage, availability, and application
- Responsible for large volume customer accounts as required and assigned
- Investigates and resolve customer problems with deliveries, product quality, or service
- Coordinates product training or demonstrations for customers as needed
- Estimates product quantities for prospective jobs based on blueprint requirements, or uses customer-provided quantities, to develop competitive pricing bids to solicit sales
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained
- Establishes, reviews, and reports market activity, market penetration, pricing, margins, and selling approaches to management
- Makes product recommendations for inclusion in a product line
- Manages and monitors credit for all new and current customers including set-up of accounts, changes to accounts, and involvement in collections
- Communicates with Credit Department and store manager regarding any credit issues that need to be resolved
- Prepares reports of business transactions, including weekly sales call log, mileage, and expenses
- Assists with developing monthly, quarterly, and annual plans in conjunction with store, regional, or commercial sales manager to meet store goals for volume and profitability
- Monitors and tracks product levels of inventory of product in the store to ensure customers’ needs are met and notifies store inventory coordinator or management when new orders are needed
- Works with and through corporate, regional, and store management and employees to facilitate efficient delivery of products and services to commercial customers
- Drives truck or van to repair stock and special order doors, including millwork trim for McCoy customers, both McCoy retail facilities and commercial contractors
- Attends team meetings and training sessions as required
