The Dell Medical School is looking for a Director of Compensation and Workforce Solutions.
Purpose
The Director of Compensation and Workforce Solutions provides leadership and direction in the design, application, and administration of policies and practices in support of the Dell Medical School (DMS) compensation program and shared services functions. Significant strategic and operational focus is prioritized on providing consultative solutions to enhance compensation analysis and support innovative workforce solution initiatives in alignment with the DMS strategic plan.
Responsibilities
Oversees DMS compensation plans and programs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations; reviews for potential opportunities to improve, incorporating feedback from stakeholders as appropriate.
Ensures compensation philosophy is in alignment with DMS strategies and goals and is integrated with annual performance management programs.
Provides expert consultation to leadership and HR teams on compensation-related matters, including salary structures, equity adjustments, and special programs.
Monitors and analyzes compensation data and market trends to make informed recommendations to leaders to ensure competitive compensation structures; assesses the effectiveness of compensation policies and makes recommendations to adjust as necessary based on organizational needs and market conditions.
Develops recommendations to existing salary administration and merit pay programs in coordination with external third-party vendors and market analysis solutions.
Manages the design, development, and implementation of general communication and specific tools that assist employees and managers with compensation-related understanding and decision-making, as appropriate; creates and delivers training for hiring managers on compensation strategies to enhance the recruitment process.
Collaborates with recruitment teams to develop compensation packages that support new programs and initiatives aimed at driving growth.
Reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations regarding the annual process to generate proposed salary structure, and merit/equity pay adjustments; oversees market adjustment movements in base pay and other compensation programs that allow DMS to remain competitive in the labor market.
Works collaboratively with finance function to respond to Legislative Budget Requests involving compensation programs.
Identifies Design, report, and deliver analytical solutions for data management, and the strategic use of information. Define, articulate, and deliver the information, reports, and analytics to key stakeholder.
Design and develop applications, dashboards, scorecards, and operational reports to support the institutional initiatives.
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.10 years of progressive, professional HR leadership or consulting experience, including 5 years of direct compensation management experience and including 5 years in an academic medical center or dynamic and complex healthcare organization or hospital system. SPHR and CCP certification. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
15 years of progressive, professional HR leadership or consulting experience, including 5 years of direct compensation management experience.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
