Responsibilities
The H-E-B High School Internship program is designed to prepare high talent and self-motivated individuals for future careers with H-E-B. The program is an 8-week summer internship (June - August) that offers high school students who have completed their junior year the opportunity to combine work experience and professional development with formal education. This program offers you an opportunity to work in an environment where you can learn, investigate career choices, and apply your education.Interns will work approximately 40 hours a week in a business unit located at an H-E-B administrative location. The internship will be a hybrid of in-person and remote work days. Interns must have flexible availability and will receive a company overview, technical training, and exposure to H-E-B Leadership as part of their experience.In addition to practical on-the-job training, interns will be challenged with assignments and projects relevant to their studies and the assigned business unit. Each intern will receive a final evaluation to assess his/her performance, to review goals and to discuss future career paths and options. Preferred Education / Experience and Competencies-Completed junior year and currently enrolled in High school formal Career and Technical Program -Potential career interest with H-E-B-Strong academic record plus-Excellent oral and written communication skills-Exhibit professionalism and discretion in working in a confidential work environment-Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database administration-Ability to work in a team environment
-Experience with Salesforce Apex, Java, or similar object-oriented programming language-Experience querying relational databases using SQL and/or consuming REST APIs-Experience with Visual Studio Code, or similar IDE, and experience with Git or other source control 05-2015
