As we continue to expand our market reach, we are seeking an innovative, strategic, and results-driven VP of Marketing to lead our comprehensive marketing initiatives and drive sustainable growth.
Position Summary
The VP of Marketing reports directly to the CMO and is a key member of the Executive Team. This role is responsible for crafting and executing a comprehensive, metrics-oriented, and data-driven marketing strategy that spans website management, PPC, SEO/LLM optimization, digital and in-person events, email, social media, video, and account-based marketing (ABM). The ideal candidate will manage a diverse team of in-house talent, agencies, contractors, and freelancers while leveraging an advanced tech stack to optimize campaign performance, manage budgets efficiently and effectively, and drive revenue growth. This leader must demonstrate exceptional written and oral communication skills, the ability to build consensus across board members, the executive team, the marketing team, and the sales team, and a proven record as a collaborative team player. An entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivation, and a bias towards action are essential for success in this fast-paced, remote scale-up environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Planning:
- Develop and implement a multi-channel marketing strategy that aligns with business goals and fuels rapid growth.
- Build a comprehensive ABM strategy targeting key verticals (Higher Ed, Sports, SaaS, Financial, etc.) to drive high-value engagement and pipeline.
- Translate market insights and data analytics into actionable plans that optimize the marketing mix and maximize ROI.
- Marketing Mix & Budget Management:
- Oversee all marketing channels, including website, PPC, SEO/LLM, email, social media, video, and events (both digital and in-person).
- Collaborate with digital marketing agencies to ensure our website, SEO, Landing Pages, and PPC campaigns are state-of-the-art and continuously evolving.
- Manage the marketing budget with a strong focus on cost efficiency, ROI, and resource allocation across multiple channels.
- Team, Agency, and Stakeholder Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional team composed of in-house marketers, agencies, contractors, and freelancers.
- Build consensus and foster open communication across Board Members, the Executive Team, the Sales team, and the Marketing Team to ensure alignment and drive strategic initiatives.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across all marketing activities.
- Serve as a collaborative team player, promoting teamwork and a supportive environment across departments.
- Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Leverage our robust tech stack to monitor campaign performance and extract actionable insights.
- Use analytics and market feedback to adjust strategies, optimize spend, and report on key performance metrics to executive leadership.
- Maintain a metrics-oriented approach to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and ensure continuous improvement.
- Develop a plan for message testing and landing page optimization
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the CMO, revenue operations, finance, product, and sales teams to ensure alignment on go-to-market strategies, product messaging, and lead conversion.
- Represent the company at industry events, webinars, and conferences, building brand credibility and fostering strategic partnerships.
- Communication & Consensus Building:
- Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills in all interactions, both internally and externally.
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations and reports that clearly articulate marketing performance, strategy, and budget considerations to stakeholders at all levels.
- Serve as a unifying force in the organization, building consensus on marketing initiatives among Board Members, the Executive Team, and the Marketing Team.
- Experience & Expertise:
- 8+ years in marketing leadership roles within SaaS or technology companies, with a proven track record of scaling marketing efforts.
- Demonstrated success in managing multi-channel marketing strategies and executing effective ABM campaigns.
- Experience in managing both in-house teams and external agencies, contractors, and freelancers.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset & Proactive Approach:
- Highly entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and action-oriented with a bias towards taking decisive actions that drive growth.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment and adept at making strategic decisions quickly.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Proven expertise in budget management with the ability to optimize spend and demonstrate strong ROI.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with tactical execution and fiscal responsibility.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO/LLM, PPC, email, social media, product review sites, advertising, and content marketing.
- Proven ability to leverage marketing technologies (including Apollo, Hubspot, and Salesforce) to drive performance and measure ROI. SMS marketing experience is ideal, though not required
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking:
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mindset to inform strategy, optimize campaigns, and drive business decisions.
- Ability to think strategically while executing with meticulous attention to detail.

- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate strategies and results.

- Demonstrated ability to build consensus and influence stakeholders, including Board Members and executive leadership.

- Industry Knowledge:
- A plus is a familiarity with marketing to diverse verticals, including, but not limited to, Higher Education, Sports, SaaS, and/or Financial Services.
- Experience selling into sales and marketing personas is a plus.
