Job Summary

THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION THAT REQUIRES A REGULAR SCHEDULE WITHIN CORE WORK HOURS (8:00 - 4:00)

The Education Specialist provides primary support to an established NASA public-facing competition - the App Development Challenge - open to middle and high school students. Your qualifications must demonstrate experience working with such events and greater than a cursory knowledge of computer languages and coding.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Develops and delivers content to educators, students, and informal education communities through public education events, experiential learning opportunities along with design challenges and competitions, student enrichment, and virtual learning.
Collect data on activity/project accomplishments and effectiveness through Lessons learned, reports, data collection, and briefings.
Creates design, development, curriculum, guides, lesson plans, support materials, and professional development for formal and informal learning communities.
Employs knowledge of current best practices and research in implementing NSTEM activities, projects, and programs.
Collaborations with NASA mission directorates, academia, government entities, professional and community organizations, and commercial partners to advance NASA's mission and the NSTEM objective.
