We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. As our Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for all accounting activities for numerous branch locations that include account reconciliations, corporate accounting, month-end close process, budget vs. actual analysis, oversight of internal controls of the branches, and payroll processing and accounting.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of accounting processes, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The role reports to the Controller and is an individual contributor role.
This position is based out of our headquarters in Dallas, Texas and is considered hybrid but will require at least three days per week in the office.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Accurately record transactions into the general ledger
- Process payroll and properly account for payroll activity in the GL
- Accurately reconcile accounts, summarize activity, resolve reconciling differences
- Understand the Balance Sheet and P&L and how they impact of account activity, including classifications of financial statement line items
- Able to analyze and articulate operational performance
- Communicate promptly and effectively with branches to assist them in understanding their financial reports
- Able to analyze and recommend improvements to processes, practices or policies and ensure branches follow the key internal controls
- Ability to work with multiple legal entities including intercompany journal entries
- Able to drive the decision-making process
- Constantly strive to exceed goals, requirements, and expectations
- Contribute to month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial data that is compliant with GAAP and accounting policies
Basic Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience in public or private accounting.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of US GAAP
- Great attention to detail
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Able to succeed in a fast-paced and growing environment
Nice to Have:
- A BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience in public accounting or as a CPA
