As a Pricing Analyst, you’ll apply strategic and analytical models to maintain our price position within our competitive environment. You'll serve as a strategic thought Partner, providing perspective and recommendations to solve business challenges.
Summary/Responsibilities of this position:
- Work with different areas of the company to ensure department leaders and senior management have full visibility into current Pricing Trends in retail
- Provide comprehensive and complex data analysis on various aspects of retail including:
- Financial Cost Projections in relation to Pricing Initiatives and / or Strategic Changes
- Competitive Price Analysis
- Category and Manufacturer Pricing Trends and Projections
- Elasticity Analysis in terms of Standard and / or Advertised Price Changes
- Analysis of Market Dynamics, Current Pricing Trends, Marketing Opportunities and Current Operations in order to develop Reports and Applications
- Act as a consultant to the assigned areas of the company to ensure all financial needs are met and that the assigned areas of the company are meeting performance goals
- Perform and Communication of Weekly Reporting to various units within the business along with having the ability to identify the drivers of the week to week changes
- Review total market news and information to identify potential price changes that may occur with commodity cost fluctuations and / or competitive strategic initiatives
- Perform deep-dive analysis on different aspects of the business in order to recommend a course of action to correct any performance issues or to take advantage of any opportunity that may be present.
- Work with multiple data retrieval systems and architectures in order to perform all the tasks above (MicroStrategy, SQL, MS Access, etc.).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science
- Strong analytical and time management skills required
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to persuade and lead groups
- Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- High-level software skills including word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and relational database management required
- Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment
- Work extended hours
