The Employee Development Manager is responsible for designing and implementing programs that enhance team member's skills and abilities, while aligning employee development with departmental and overall organizational goals. The Employee Development Manager serves as a coach and business partner to managers in leading the measurement, analysis, and delivery of effective strategies to improve team member development. This role will collaborate with business partners to improve management effectiveness and craft career pathing framework, with an emphasis on employee development, that enhances the workforce and improves organizational outcomes. This role will oversee the training segment of human resources, monitoring training needs, training gaps and facilitating management training programs.
- Design, implement, and evaluate training programs specifically for managers within the Credit Union to ensure they acquire the necessary skills to effectively lead their teams. Develop customized training curriculums, facilitating training sessions, and monitor the impact of training on managerial performance. Serve as a peer resource and partner to managers.
- Responsible for designing and maintaining a comprehensive career path framework for various roles within the organization. Collaborate with managers to create a clear course of action by identifying potential career opportunities, along with development paths to achieve employee and company goals.
- In collaboration with department managers, align career development goals with performance management objectives to ensure employees are working towards their career aspirations while meeting organizational needs. Provide management coaching and guidance in the task of utilizing Gallup tools and resources to cultivate highly engaged teams.
- Provide team and individual strengths-based coaching to enhance professional and personal performance. Analyze and identify roadblocks and blind spots and assist employees to adopt successful ways to overcome and successfully manage challenges to achieve goals, using their individual strengths.
- Analyze training needs to develop new training and/or modify and improve existing programs, evaluate instructor performance and the program's effectiveness. Facilitate and develop manager training programs.
Experience
Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
A college degree.
Interpersonal Skills
The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.

Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
