Central Market is currently seeking individuals with solid analytical, communication and interpersonal skills to maximize sales and to provide our customers with an exceptional shopping experience The Sales Manager will be responsible for the total operations of the assigned department and its financial results This position reports to a Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Majority of the time spent using independent judgment in making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommend such decisions including but not limited to product and department related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters
- Responsible for employment interviews, performance appraisals and Partner feedback
- Trains and develops Partners
- Responsible for writing departmental schedules
- Develop and lead a team to provide customer service at the highest level in all areas
- Responsible for selling products for promotional and special events throughout the store
- Merchandise department to maximize sales, ensuring appropriate abundance and effective presentation through signage and art display
- Maintain multiple vendor relationships
- Work with other department managers to effectively deliver results
- Provide superlative customer service
- Assure product delivered to customers is of optimum quality and in-stock conditions are maintained
- Maintain a high degree of product knowledge
- Ensures that all government and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration and sanitation are met
- Ensure highest level of quality and presentation in products and services
- Must be able to work flexible shifts
- Effectively promote services and products provided by Central Market to maximize sales
- Work to achieve set department budget that contributes to the stores long range goals
- Monitor and manage product assortment, shrink, labor, and wrap expenses to meet budget goals
- Basic financial acumen and knowledge of financial terms like Sales/GP% and their application to department goals
- Ensure appropriate planning to meet weekly and long-term budget goals
- Oversee product ordering and inventory controls
- Conduct weekly forecasting and production planning for product assortment
Requirements:
- 4+ years of Bakery Operations Management experience
- Love of all things Bakery
- Scratch Production experience preferred
- Ability to develop and deliver sound recommendations
- Passion for food
