Patient Care:- Evaluates patients; obtains / studies medical histories; documents patient and clinic records- Interviews patients; understands patient medical history, assess physical health; examines as needed- Evaluates effectiveness of current care methods and procedures and suggest improvements- Educates / counsels patients; explains treatment plan; promotes physical health and wellness- Orders laboratory and radiology tests; refers patients to specialists as appropriate- Prescribes / administers / dispenses medications and treatment regimens in compliance with state and federal statutes- Discusses potential side effects of medication / treatment; ensures all allergy information is up-to-date- Complies / ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements, and infection control protocols and policies- Maintains professional / technical knowledge; reviews professional journals; establishes personal network; participates in professional associations- Collaborates with clinic staff to recommend / improve patient care practices, and clinic guidelines and workflow- Ensures adherence to HIPAA regulationsWhat is your background?- MD / DO degree from an accredited medical school- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in primary medical specialty- Current, active license to practice in Texas- Current, unrestricted DEA- Current BLS certification by an approved American Heart Association organizationDo you have what it takes to be a fit as a Physician for H-E-B Wellness Primary Care?- Advanced interpersonal and counseling skills- Advanced verbal / written / listening communication skills- Strong deductive / inductive reasoning and observation skills- Leadership and people-management skills- Time-management skills- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks; attention to detail; adaptability; flexibility- Ability to maintain confidentiality- Ability to work well as part of a teamCan you...- Function in a fast-paced clinic / office environment- Sit / stand / stoop for extended periods- Regularly lift up to 20 lbs- Maintain required continuing medical education
