'Partner-owned' means our most important resources--People--drive the innovation, growth, and success that make H-E-B The Greatest Omnichannel Retailing Company.Do you have a: HEART FOR PEOPLE... commitment to work hard to make sure your Customers and Partners come first?HEAD FOR BUSINESS... the know-how to combine first-class customer service and merchandising / selling?PASSION FOR RESULTS... ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple concurrent tasks?We are looking for:- leadership experience- drive for financial resultsWhat is the work?Management:- Spends majority of time using independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions, including product- and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters- Designs floral arrangements; regularly performs Representative and Specialist duties- Plans / coordinates / communicates the Corporate merchandising and marketing plan to the Store plan- Develops / trains future leaders in the School of Retail Management (SORM)- Prepares work schedules, orders product, controls inventory, monitors department budget / payrollSales / Analytics:- Orders product to maintain inventory; ensures availability of seasonal items- Promotes Floral events to maximize sales and profit- Exhibits passion for product and customer service; drives customer engagement for department- Achieves gross profit budget by preparing projections / forecasts, controlling inventory, managing / reducing costs, and ensuring the accuracy of invoicesWhat is your background?- Minimum age 18 (mandatory)- Completion of H-E-B School of Retail Management (SORM) - to be completed as part of training upon hire- 1+ years of experience in department / training or equivalent- Experience or interest in creating floral arrangements- Experience in leadership / management- Food Safety / SRS certification- Floral OJTDo you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Floral (BLOOMS) Manager?- Knowledge of floral products and tools including types of floral products and their characteristics- Knowledge of floral availability including peak times, seasonal / logistical components of availability- Understanding of the relationship between availability to price / cost- Interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills- Computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel), and H-E-B systems- Ability to build, motivate, and maintain staff- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasksCan you...- Function in a fast-paced, retail environment- Continuously stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overhead, and side to side throughout shift- Regularly work in cooler environment and in wet conditions- Occasionally lift and carry 40-50 pounds- Work extended hours and / or rotating schedules
