This position provides for work-life balance with typically a 40-hours work week.

This is a 40 hours per week work schedule, Monday-Friday, with a variable schedule between 8:00 am-8:00 pm, to be determined by the hiring manager. This position is eligible for remote work (FWA) with occasional in-person meetings required.
Purpose
To provide analysis of financial systems. Responsible for preparing cost analysis of financial studies to ensure the institution's assets are maximized. Analyzes fiscal accounting and financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Interpret accounting data as it relates to the budget and analyze trends. Advise management on available options and budgetary implications. Throughout the year, provide oversight for division budgets. Monitor operating account balances, expenditures, and encumbrances. Advise division management when balances are in deficit.
- Develops visualizations, models, presentations, correspondence, forms, and reports to communicate trends with Facilities Services leaders and staff. Develops self-service reporting tools to provide direct access to information. May develop or modify databases or applications to support the department and divisions. Provide data and/or data access to users of UTWorks (Asset Works AIM), DEFINE, Toad, Tableau, FileMaker Pro and other information sources.
- Provides primary identification, analysis, and reporting of performance and financial trends and statistics for the department and divisions utilizing Structured Query Language(SQL), Tableau, Toad, Access, VBA, Excel, COGNOS, FileMaker, SharePoint, and other data management and business intelligence tools.
- Assist in preparation of the annual budget and annual merit for divisions to establish and account for all operating funds and all full time employees.
- Assist with the completion and tracking of accounting transfers and manual billings.
- Prepare and analyze financial, personnel and work order information from various sources.
- Provide professional consistent, timely and reliable communication via e-mail or other mediums. Act as backup for co-workers when needed.
- Review and verify funding and position availability for personnel actions for divisions as part of the hiring process.
- Perform other related functions as assigned. May manage special projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or Business Administration. Six years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting with experience in planning, forecasting and financial analysis. Plans, initiates, and completes assignments with a minimum of direction. Demonstrated ability to work with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure of multiple deadlines. Demonstrated proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and presenting financial data using personal computer and related software including Microsoft products Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Advanced skills in Excel, including the creation of variable-driven models, pivots and macros. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member. Working knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Tableau or PowerBi with the ability to create visualizations.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
More than six years of required experience. Ability to write advanced, complex queries in SQL, and experience with enterprise facility management systems, such as FAMIS and UTWorks (Asset Works AIM), to create comprehensive and detailed financial reports. Experience manipulating complex spreadsheet data to analyze data trends and create management reports. Advanced skills in any of the following: Access, PowerPoint, Tableau, PowerBI,Visio, or MS Office. Working knowledge of Smartsheets. Experience with UT DEFINE or other large mainframe accounting systems. Excellent communication (oral and written), planning, problem solving, project management and customer service skills required. Ability to influence and build work relationship among a dynamic workforce at all levels required. Knowledge of University's budget process, accounting system, financial reports, and COGNOS Cubes & Author. Accuracy and attention to detail in all phases of work performed. Working knowledge of UT accounting and procurement policies and procedures. Ability and willingness to work with initiative.
Salary Range
$75,960 + depending on qualifications
