Description

Summary/Purpose of the Position:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Transactional Accounting Specialist to support our accounting operations in a fast-paced distribution environment. This role will focus on cash reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in day-to-day transactions and supporting operational efficiency across the supply chain.

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:

Perform daily cash and bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Ensure Accounts Payable invoices are recognized in the correct period, and resolve any issues in a timely manner by working with the AP team
Manage accounts receivable by ensuring timely and accurate billing, cash application, and proactive follow-up.
Perform inventory reconciliation, collaborating with warehouse, logistics, and procurement teams to address discrepancies and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
Support month-end close by preparing journal entries, reconciling key balance sheet accounts, and providing variance analysis related to distribution operations.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements related to transactional processes.
Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline workflows and reduce transactional errors.
Work closely with supply chain, operations, and sales teams to align financial records with physical inventory and shipping activity.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+years of transactional accounting experience, preferably in the distribution, logistics, or supply chain industry.
Strong working knowledge of GAAP and transactional accounting processes.
Proficiency in ERP systems (CSD Infor products preferred or any other ERPs like Dynamics, SAP etc) and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Very proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and financial software applications.
Experience handling inventory and COGS reconciliations in a distribution environment.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
