This is a fixed term position that may end after three years from the employee’s start date.
Flexible work arrangements are available for this position, including the ability to work remotely. We would prefer a candidate located in the greater Austin area to be on campus for critical project meetings and client engagement opportunities.
This position provides life/work balance with typically a 40-hour work week and travel limited to training (e.g., conferences/courses).

Purpose
The UT Medical Center Partnership Project Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting Dell Medical School's mission of establishing a world-class destination for academic medicine. One that transforms health care. One that makes “getting better” the best it can be.This role will manage and coordinate multiple Enterprise Technology IT initiatives across diverse workstreams. This role ensures alignment between Dell Medical School and the University of Texas Enterprise Technology department by driving collaboration between teams, facilitating cross-functional communication, and ensuring projects meet their goals within established timelines and budgets.
The Program Manager will work with Enterprise Technology leaders to oversee workstreams related to enterprise resource planning (ERP), networking telecommunications, system mapping, applications, and other technology-driven initiatives. This individual will serve as a key liaison between Dell Medical School, Enterprise Technology, and other stakeholders, ensuring successful implementation of projects that enhance the school's operational and academic technology capabilities.
Responsibilities
Program Management:
- Collaborate with Enterprise Technology Leadership to develop and manage the portfolio of IT initiatives associated with Dell Medical School and the launch of the new University of Texas at Austin Medical Center.
- Maintain a roadmap for projects, ensuring proper prioritization and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Track progress and status of all workstreams, escalating risks and issues as needed.
- Develop dashboards, performance indicators, and success metrics to provide leadership updates.
- Lead or support the development of executive-level briefings and governance documentation.
Project Coordination:
- Facilitate coordination across multiple teams, including ERP, networking, telecommunications, applications, and other technology functions.
- Ensure dependencies and interconnections between workstreams are identified, communicated, and managed effectively.
- Serve as a central point of contact for project updates, status reporting, and key stakeholder communication.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with Dell Medical School leadership to ensure IT initiatives align with academic and operational priorities.
- Liaise with Enterprise Technology leadership to align resources and resolve conflicts.
- Engage with external vendors and partners as needed to support initiative execution.
Resource and Budget Management:
- Work with Engagement and Experience leaders and other Enterprise Technology leadership to identify and allocate necessary resources to support project execution.
- Monitor project budgets and ensure financial compliance, as needed
- Provide input on resource planning and staffing needs.
ET Operational Project Support:
- Work with Enterprise Technology leaders and technical staff on the execution of operational projects as needed.
- Maintain project workplans, status reports, escalating risks and issues.
- Collaborate with communication and engagement teams.
- Identify opportunities to enhance collaboration, communication, and efficiency between stakeholders and Enterprise Technology.
- Document and share best practices across workstreams.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing IT projects or portfolios, preferably in a higher education or healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex workstreams and initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, networking, telecommunications, and enterprise applications.
- Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a medical school, healthcare, or higher education environment.
- Experience applying the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to manage complex, cross-functional technology initiatives across multiple teams
- Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with IT governance and change management processes.
Salary Range
$90,000 + depending on qualifications

- Monday – Friday 8am-5pm; Occasional nights or weekends may be required
