Position Overview
The Purchasing Agent plays a vital role in ensuring the procurement of high-quality electrical materials, components, and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position supports project timelines by maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
As a Purchasing Agent, you will:
- Source and procure electrical supplies such as conduit, wiring, switchgear, lighting, panels, and other components.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, availability, reliability, and technical support.
- Resolve issues related to shipment delays, defective goods, or incorrect deliveries.
- Administer purchasing processes and maintain associated documentation.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, supplier contracts, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, and accounting teams to align procurement activities with project needs.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in an electrical or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical components and materials.
- Proficiency with procurement software such as Procore, Kojo, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems.
- Experience in inventory and cost management.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and sound ethical judgment.
License/Certification

- Solid financial acumen related to procurement processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
