The Crew Member will be responsible for safely digging trenches, laying pipes, and installing underground utility systems, including gas and fiber optics. This role requires a strong emphasis on safety, ensuring efficient and accurate task completion across various job site conditions. The Crew Member will collaborate closely with the team to meet project deadlines and uphold high-quality standards throughout the installation process.
General:

- Ensure that all operations are conducted safely and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Role-Specific:
- Safely excavate around existing utilities, ensuring no damage occurs.
- Load and transport materials such as dirt, gravel, and pipe as needed.
- Assist with the installation of utility lines, including gas and fiber optic systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and utility markings to determine digging locations.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other crew members to ensure efficient project completion.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform minor maintenance as needed.
- Adhere to Texas RRC, OSHA, and company safety guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Familiarity with digging, trenching, and backfilling techniques.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for underground construction.
- Ability to read utility maps, blueprints, and site plans.
- Experience working with locators, pipe layers, and other construction personnel.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid CDL (preferred but not required).
- Experience in the Utilities Industry
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily on outdoor construction sites, exposed to varying weather conditions.
