The Logistics Protection, Security and Risk Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to minimize theft and other security risks across warehousing, railroad, and transportation operations. This role focuses on safeguarding assets, improving operational security, and mitigating risks to ensure the smooth and secure flow of goods throughout the supply chain.

Responsibilities Risk Management and Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive theft prevention programs for warehouse and transportation operations (railroad and trucking).
- Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities across the supply chain.
- Collaborate with management to integrate security measures into daily operations and long-term strategies.
Monitoring and Incident Management:
- Oversee the monitoring of freight and warehouse facilities using advanced security technologies, including GPS tracking and surveillance systems.
- Investigate incidents of theft, fraud, and cargo loss, documenting findings and implementing corrective measures.
- Serve as a liaison with law enforcement and build external partnership with agencies and consortiums focused on freight rail and cargo theft prevention and recovery, including theft investigations.
Training and Compliance:
- Develop training programs for staff on theft prevention policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry security regulations, including transportation security standards.
Operational Oversight:
- Analyze trends in theft and cargo loss to recommend policy improvements.
- Coordinate security efforts during high-risk activities such as cross-docking, drayage transfers, and long-haul transportation.
- Maintain and update emergency response plans specific to theft prevention.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare detailed reports on theft incidents, risk trends, and preventive measures.
- Provide recommendations to management on reducing operational risks and improving supply chain security.
- Audit freight payment data and shipment records to identify discrepancies or potential theft indicators.
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Logistics, or a related field required
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in logistics security, theft prevention, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations, 3 PL transportation Operation, warehouse management, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of warehouse, railroad, and trucking operations.
- Proficiency in security technologies, including surveillance systems and asset tracking tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, investigative, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with law enforcement.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for transportation security.
- Ability to work independently and be resourceful
- Proficient with software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Willingness to travel to various facilities and operational sites.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
