Spectrum is currently hiring for two Field Support Technicians that will support the Force Protection (FP) Products Section at our customer site at Lackland AFB, TX.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical advice and guidance on system diagnostics, repair and functional check-out procedures to field units, program office personnel and other technicians. Typical responsibilities include coordinating with program office engineers to develop technical solutions for those field level discrepancies which are not addressed by the field level maintenance procedures.
- Work is performed on a bench or on temporary duty to bases throughout the United States. Examples of tasks include, but are not limited to: provide input to configuration control documents as requested by system engineers or PMs, provide suggested changes to engineering drawings, provide suggested changes to field/depot level technical orders, validate/verify technical order procedures, provide recommendations for component form/fit/function changes to systems, serve as on-site technical advisor field-level technicians for Force Protection Systems, perform maintenance/ troubleshooting/repairs on Force Protection equipment (ranging from microcircuit and component level to system level), provide training and operational orientation to military/civilian technicians on Force Protection Systems, when directed by the customer, travel to sites to provide assistance or make depot-level repairs, provide life-cycle logistics advice to government program office officials, based on technical knowledge and research, for spares and obsolescence decisions.

- 10 years of experience as a field support technician
- Electronics repair experience
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Employee will routinely work on energized equipment using various electronic diagnostic equipment.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be used at all times. Safety shoes will be used routinely. Hearing and sight PPE will be available on site.
