Join us as our new Survey Engineer - Grade I
We are looking for another member to join our Survey and Positioning Team in Houston, Texas. Our working environment consists of highly educated, skilled, positive, innovative, and enthusiastic employees.
The Survey Engineer's function is to install and maintain survey equipment during offshore operations in addition to troubleshooting faulty equipment and providing inventory listings and equipment fault reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for notifying Party Chief or Senior Engineer of any non-serviceable survey equipment
- Responsible for commissioning, calibration and decommissioning of all survey equipment to the satisfaction of the Offshore Manager/Party Chief
- Understanding project maintenance of survey equipment and systems
- Maintenance of equipment logs and inventories
- Take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and others and to take the necessary steps to protect the environment
- Have good working knowledge of Business Management System (BMS) and comply with Company ISO9001:2008 standards implemented
DUTIES/TASKS
Task can include, but are not limited to:
- Competent to install and test survey equipment and systems
- Competent for the management of all survey/ROV interface cables
- Competent for the safe operation of survey equipment and systems
- Competent to be able track offshore project equipment
- Competent for the demobilization and shipping of survey equipment
- Supporting on-line surveyor during operations
- Cooperate with supervisors and managers on Health safety and environmental matters and not interfere with anything provided to safeguard their Health and Safety
- Take part in hazard identification and risk assessment as required by Offshore Manager
- Report all Health, Safety & Environmental concerns to the Party Chief / Offshore Manager
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree level or equivalent Subsea operations knowledge
Experience / Knowledge:
- Nominally 12 months experience, including 120 operational days offshore as a Survey Engineer (Grade II)
- Qualified and Experienced in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- Appropriate offshore medical and offshore survival course
Skills (social/technical) and Equipment:
- Satisfactory completion of the competence criteria for Survey Engineer (Grade II)
- Proficient in Microsoft Packages - Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Document Control Systems Qualified and Experienced in Electronics and Electrical Engineering
- Interpersonal and organizational skills Degree level or equivalent Subsea operations knowledge
- Communicator, written and oral skills
