Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Porter to join our team. The Porter will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of the facility by performing a variety of tasks such as cleaning, delivering supplies, and assisting with event setup. This position is critical in maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including hallways, restrooms, entrances, and lobbies. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; empty trash cans and replace liners.
- Maintenance Assistance: Assist with minor repairs or maintenance tasks, such as light bulb changes, cleaning air filters, and reporting major issues to the maintenance team.
- Set-Up and Event Assistance: Help set up furniture, equipment, and other items for meetings, events, or conferences. Tear down setups when events conclude.
- Security Support: Monitor facility access points and assist in ensuring that only authorized personnel are on the premises. Report any suspicious activity to management or security personnel.
- Customer Service: Assist guests or employees with basic requests and directions. Ensure a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the facility.
- Inventory Control: Keep track of cleaning supplies, materials, and other necessary items, alerting supervisors when inventory is low.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in accordance with safety regulations. Use proper cleaning supplies and equipment as instructed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a porter, janitorial, or custodial role
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Flexibility to work evening, weekend, or holiday shifts as required.
